About Us
Mom's Pantry is a family business that was established in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1985 by Jim and Leonie Olcen, and their children Maureen and Glenn. Jim originally owned a successful bakery supply business when he was approached by a local organization wondering if they could purchase food items in bulk quantity for a fundraiser. The idea was an appealing one, and after some consideration with Leonie, Maureen, and Glenn, it was decided to take on the fundraising needs of the public by creating Mom's Pantry, a business dedicated to being your fundraising specialists.
Mom's Pantry operated out of a small building across from a school on Forbes Road for the first few years, then moved to a larger building not so far away at the their current location of 3241 St Mary's Road. Mom's Pantry has enjoyed continued success ever since, and continues to expand to this day.
Jim and Leonie are still at the helm of Mom's Pantry, and Maureen and Glenn work the business daily, manning the phones and working with suppliers to help organizations interested in fundraising ventures. Their friendly and dedicated staff work hard with them to make sure that orders are packed with care and that Mom's Pantry customers get the special attention they deserve. Sports teams, schools, churches, and daycares are just some of the groups Mom's Pantry helps with their fundraisers, and local families can drop by the store to make their own purchases. Mom's Pantry even fields mail order grocery purchases for local families. That's Mom... Always looking out for you!
